The center’s objectives

  • The development of theoretical and applied economic research, stimulating the performance research activities of academics, MAs, PhDs and PhD students.
  • Disseminating the outcomes of the research using specialized training programs and by collaborating with companies interested in technological transfer, using material and human resources provided by the Department of Continuing Education and Technology Transfer within the “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati.
  • Organizing periodic meetings, colloquia and conferences of the faculty (the International Conference “Risk in Contemporary Economy”, the Olympics of Economic Students organized in collaboration with AFER,  the student scientific sessions organized at the faculty), as well as forming student circles and colloquia in the economic and business administration field for the formation of young researchers
  • The publication of the research outcomes in its own scientific journals,  the Annals of the “Dunarea de Jos” University of Galati, Beam I, Economics and Applied Informatics and the Journal of Economics and Technology Transfer, as well as other Romanian and foreign journals
  • Stimulating the exchange of ideas and information with specialists in the country (from other research institutions or faculties) and from abroad, by participating to common projects, seminars, conferences and Congresses. Also, the Research Center will initiate and follow interdisciplinary projects.
  • Formation and development of the innovative entrepreneurial culture of the SMEs, through seminaries, workshops, scholarships, as well as using some “business incubator” and “simulated enterprise” type instruments.
  • Formation of a database with Research-Development-Innovation projects
  • Implementation of modern methods of growing the organizations’ performances (Benchmarking, Total Performance Score, Six Sigma etc.)
  • Consulting regarding the industrial and intellectual property and disseminating at a regional level of the legislation regarding the rights of individual property
  • Investigating the necessities of Research-Development-Innovation in the South East region by building and applying marketing surveys
  • Permanent collaboration with the business environment representatives, institutions and people interested in the design and submission of research/development projects financed by the EU and/or national organizations; granting assistance and economic and technical expertise in this domain
  • Promotion of the European Union commercial and industrial standards, loyal competition, honest commercial practices, business ethics – through symposia, seminaries and other scientific events of their own.
  • Promotion of the current economic framework regarding the knowledge based economy, innovative clusters and technological diffusion.
